Paranormal
Investigation
At
The Swan
Hotel, Harleston.
Date of
investigation – 4th October 2008
Time of
investigation – 9pm
Investigators
present - Duggie, Tracey, Jayne, Benny and Jason.
Weather outside –
Very wet.

Carvery
We started the investigation in the carvery room,
where we set up various items; a trigger item, a video camera linked to a
laptop and a motion sensor. We decided
to turn the motion sensor off after a few minutes as this seemed to be going
off a lot. The temperature was taken at 9.50pm and was recorded as 13 degrees
C.
While the equipment was being set up Jason, Jayne and
Tracey took a walk around the large carvery room. A temperature reading was taken in the small
room off of the top end of the carvery, of between 7.7 and 8.8 degrees C. The EMF then bleeped with a reading of 2.5.
Jayne saw a mist in the right hand corner of the room. Both Tracey and Jayne were feeling a
tightness of the chest but were unable to find out anymore.
We moved into the middle section of the carvery room
where the EMF meter beeped 3 times, a reading of 2 was given. Jayne picked up on dancing which could be seen
with many people, British and Americans, like a party was taking place. Wrens
in their uniforms could be seen wearing very red lipstick. Jayne picked up on a
Pilot from the 2nd world war, whilst she was feeling pressure on her
shoulders and her legs felt like concrete around them. The pilot said he was
British and that he had crashed and drowned in water. He was in his spitfire at the time. The name Lieutenant Keith Sharman or Shamen
was given.
Hall off
of Carvery
We moved into the Hallway connecting the carvery to
the Bar, where the EMF meter beeped twice; the temperature was 6.2. A lady in a
grey dress was seen by Tracey. She would
walk from the bar direction to the carvery but only went one way. It appeared that the hallway would not have
been there then as she was walking in the open air. The name Evelyn was given
and she appeared to be wearing a small hat.
Kitchen
off of Carvery
The kitchen felt heavy as we first walked in and
Tracey confirmed this by saying she had a heavy head. In the small wash room off of the kitchen,
Jayne picked up on a male who was rounded in size. He wore a leather apron like a butcher would
wear and the name Ron Smith was given to Jayne. He was bald and wore an open
neck plain off white shirt. At this
point Jayne felt short of breath and was puffing. She felt that this was
connected with this person. He told her
he liked his beer and liked to drink. He
felt quite cross that he had died as he felt it was not his time, although the
feeling given was that he had fell over when drunk and had died of his
injuries.
Public
Bar Outside
As soon as we entered the building the EMF beeped
many times and whilst we were in this room, each time in different area of the
room. The temperature was taken and
recorded as 14.4 degrees C. A male energy was sensed by Tracey. He wore a black
cloak and had his face covered. A breeze was felt passing Jayne and the name
Sylvester was heard. It was not certain
if it was his Christian name or surname.
A sword was seen with this man, it was about an inch across and double
edged.
Jayne and Tracey went into the ladies toilet and an
orb was seen by Jayne.
Bedrooms
We decided at this point to split into two groups
with Jayne, Tracey and Benny and Jason and Dug in the other.
Bedroom 1
This was investigated by Jayne, Benny & Tracey. The temperature was taken as 14.7 degrees C. There were no EMF beeps and nothing was picked
up.
Bedroom 3
This was investigated by Jayne, Benny & Tracey. As we walked into the room, the EMF went off
and an uncomfortable feeling was felt by Jayne. The temperature was recorded as
17.8. In the toilet area a prickly
feeling was felt by Jayne and then the feeling that a really big argument had
taken place. This was felt to be a
residue feeling rather than held there.
Bedroom 4
This room was investigated by Jayne, Benny &
Tracey. The temperature of 12.3 was
recorded. A male energy with a beard
around 40 years of age was picked up. It
was felt he would have visited the hotel to see a lady in secret and that he
had some connection with the sea. He had a scar across his cheek. It was felt
he held fond memories of coming here and that he was not held but visited the
hotel or this area. The last time he
visited the lady had not been here and the reason he keeps returning is that he
is still looking for her.
Bedroom
5
(Occupied by guests – not investigated)
Bedroom
6
This room was
investigated by both groups but separately.
We felt that the room was very heady.
The temperature was 12.7, the EMF bleeped and there was a musty smell. Benny complained he was not happy with
standing near the double wardrobe and felt in general not comfortable about
being in this room. The girls, Duggie and Jason all felt ok in here.
Bedroom
7
Again, this was investigated by both groups but
separately. As we walked into this room
a cold shudder was felt by Tracey and Jayne.
The feeling of a sexual attack with the residue of a memory still held
here. The temperature was taken as
14.9. It was felt that the attack
between the man and woman had never been reported to any authority at the time,
although the nature of the attack was so ferocious, that she would have had to
have seen someone due to the nature of the how the man had assaulted her and
blood was drawn. It was as we were
talking out loud about this as at that time the EMF bleeped almost in
confirmation.
Bedroom
8
Both groups investigated this room separately. We walked into the room and it was hard to
put your finger onto what was happening in this room. A male energy was being picked up; we
realised that this was the energy from the public bar we had felt earlier. We questioned why he was with us in this room;
the reply was that he was inquisitive as to what we were doing. The temperature was taken at this point and
recorded as 14.8. Tracey asked the man,
if he needed help with passing over, as she was offering to help him if he did
want her to. The EMF went mad
continually beeping, but the feeling was that this was not what he wanted, so
Tracey asked him to calm down, telling him that she wouldn’t do anything. As
these words were spoken the EMF stopped bleeping and a mist had been seen in front
of Tracey as she spoke the words.
Bedroom
9
We investigated this room separately in two groups
again. As we entered this room a pipe
tobacco smell was noticed, the temperature started off as 17.8 and went down to
11.7 whilst we were in there. Duggie and
Jason sat on the bed and felt freezing. It
was felt that they had a male energy with them. A rope could be felt around
Jason’s neck and the feeling of a highwayman. It was felt that either this man
was hung or strangled by Jason. The EMF was placed to the side of Jason and was
beeping a lot whilst he was talking about these impressions being given to him.
Both Duggie and Jason had been drawn to look out of the windows but it seemed
to stare at nothing like someone was day dreaming. Duggie was complaining of it
being so cold he could not feel his knees.
Bedroom
10
Investigated by Jayne, Benny & Tracey. As we walked into the room each of us
experienced goose bumps or a prickly feeling all over. The temperature was taken as 10.7 degrees C. Tracey felt that a hanging had taken place
with a female and that she had taken her own life. An energy was seen standing
by the bathroom. Tears were felt from this woman, with the words “I can’t go on,
he took my life.” But what she meant was
that a man had hurt her so much mentally that she had to take her own life in
order to be free of him. She was a
catholic and kept repeating the words, “blessed hail Mary.” She felt she could not move on as she was in sin
for taking her own life in her catholic faith.
She did confirm to us that she had meant to take her own life although
she confirmed that she did not come to the hotel with him. She said that after her death it took him
sometime to find her and realise that she had hung herself. The date given was 1920. She became quite frustrated with our
questions. The name Patina or something
similar was given and she felt foreign. She was wearing a pale pink satin
dressing gown/over coat.
At this point we all got together to investigate the
remaining rooms as one whole group.
Bedroom
11
The temperature taken was 11 although the window was
open. There were no EMF bleeps and nothing
was picked up in this room.
Bedroom
12
The temperature was 13.4. There were no EMF bleeps and nothing was
picked up in this room.
Bedroom
14
A temperature reading of 14.3 was taken. There were no EMF bleeps and nothing was
picked up in this room
Bedroom
15
The room temperature was 16.4 on entering. Tracey
picked up on a boy of about 8 years old; he was wearing shorts, socks, tied
shoes, a peaked flat cap and felt to be of a family quite noble. He said his
name was Alistair Barrister.
Jayne also picked up on a servant/maid named Katie. She
was connected to the boy as far as being aware of him. She had passed before
him. The boy was felt to be very active
in the hallway on this floor, playing with a ball and it was felt that Katie
had lost a baby and had adopted the boy in her time of loss.
Bridal suite
room
It seemed time had stood still in this room; it was
felt people or persons of wealth had been around this area and it was felt a
female energy had spent time in this room.
The feeling was that she would keep looking out of the window and was
quite childish in manner even though her age was around 18 or 19. The date 1535 was given to Duggie. It felt like she was being kept there as she
has been naughty. It seemed she would
get excited about things we would take for granted. Her hair was tied in plaits and then coiled
into a bun. Her dress had a pattern
which was creamy in colour. The name
given to Duggie was Andrea Collins. It
was felt again that what we were picking up was residue energy left and the
memory kept repeating. As we were in the room, a bump was heard 3 times which
we could not explain.
Cellar
The cellar felt
fine to all the men but the girls were affected as soon as we stood alone. The cellar consists of two rooms and it
seemed that whenever the girls were left alone in the first room near the
stairs, shuffling footsteps were heard behind them. Tracey would not remain on her own and felt
very threatened and wanted to stand beside someone. No details of what this
was, was picked up.
The bar was not available to investigate and a future
investigation will be arranged to do this
.
We would like to say thank you to Mr Robin Twigge, Manager of The Swan Hotel, for allowing us
to do this investigation and his hospitality on the night.
