At the beginning of the investigation the temperature was17.9C. We began by setting up the equipment and then split into three smaller groups; group one being Simon, Duggie and Des, group two Jayne, Lucy and George and group three were Neil andJane. Duggies group began by going to the back left hand corner of the ruins. Jaynes group went to the Roman building and Neils group went to the hole/mound.
Duggie could see a Roman on a horse guarding the hole/mound in the back right corner. There were also two men walking on the mound. The temperature at this point was 12.2C. In the far right corner Duggie could see someone standing near the fence. He had a leather shirt on with studs, a sword and a bow which he was holding. He was watching the Roman building itself. Simon and Des could both feel that someone was watching them.
Neil picked up on children playing. He felt that they belonged to the soldier who was on site, as he had his family there with him. He sensed lots of farm animals roaming free around the site. As he moved around the hole he could feel two men which were not Roman. He believed that they were Saxon and from an earlier time.
Jayne, Lucy and George proceeded to the ruins of the first set of buildings nearest the entrance and began at the end nearest to the gate. Within the confines of what had been the walls of this room, Lucy sensed the image of a gaunt, bedraggled man with a withered leg. He appeared to be wearing rag-like clothing and his longish, mousey-blonde hair gave the impression that he was from the Saxon era, rather than Roman.
Next, we moved through to the room where the camera and trigger object were in place. Both George and Jayne said that this area felt ‘heavy’, mentioning that it felt like walking through cobwebs. The following room was significantly larger and all present sensed a busy but cheerful atmosphere, accompanied by sounds of chatter, eating and drinking. George reported that he felt there would have been a horseshoe shaped table (or at least set out in that fashion).
The penultimate room in this section of the site was different again – all felt that it had an empty atmosphere. After wandering through the remains of the heating system, we decided to head back to the largest room that we felt would have been used as an eating hall. Upon returning to this area, Jayne sensed a Roman male presence; he proceeded to tell her tha the’d been away from home for nine years, showing her an image of a farmstead, somewhere warm. He gave the name Cassius and said that he’d only got two more years left before he could return home and that he’d been a professional soldier, and gave the year 98. He also commented that he didn’t like the weather here. During this, Lucy also had the brief impression of a lady with dark hair, elaborately piled up.
<!--[endif]-->Everyone then met up with Neil on the hole/mound. The EMF was going off the scale and into the red. Upon checking there were no powercables, street lights or energy sources within that area. A few of the members reported a pain in the right hand side, which was described as if being stabbed in the kidney.
Neil and Simon sat on the edge of the mound and felt like someone was over them. Simon could feel someone breathing down his neck and Neil sensed that he was just checking over his shoulder to see what they were doing. After a few seconds this disappeared and Neil felt that it was because he had no concerns with us. The EMF started to go into the red again. Some of the group members felt like they needed to go to the back left corner. Neil picked up on a Roman behind him, as did Simon. Simon also saw a Roman washing his hands. However this spirit did not wish to communicate with us. Des felt like he had a dark horse riding around him.
Neil was sitting at the hole and couldn’t focus his mind properly. Jayne could feel someone standing near her. She felt like some changes had been made, very modern. Neil was not sure and he still felt uneasy. Jayne could hear lots of movement and shouting, coming from the far left corner where there seemed to be lots going on. We all decided to go to this corner.
The temperature at the back left corner was 16.2C. Neil and Jayne were both feeling sick and it was worse when they were both together. Duggie said he was sensing something to do with numbers and at this point the sickness just disappeared. Neil felt that a woman had been raped, although he was unsure of the time frame. As Neil turned his back on Duggie, he saw an orb go past Jayne. Lucy felt her ears burning. Des was sensing Romans around Lucy and Neil also around him. Some members within the group sensed feasting and merriment in the largest area, although Simon briefly had the impression of a rather obese man.
<!--[endif]-->We then made our way to the centre of the site to use the ouija board. The results of the ouija board are as follows–
Board One Neil, Lucy & Jane (Jayne controlled this)
The glass moved very slowly with hardly any energy. The letters CLYJ were given.
Are you from the Roman time?
Glass moved quickly to edge of board backwards and forwards.
Can you tell us what year you’re from?
Goodbye
Board two – Lucy, Jayne (Duggie controlled this)
The glass moved immediately.
Can you tell us your name?

We ended the investigation at the Roman site and went to Caister beach to see what we could find there.
Duggie felt that there was something that would’ve been on the beach that was linked to the fort. The temperature was 14.7C. We all walked to the waters edge where we all felt uneasy. Duggie could see someone running towards the group, but not in an aggressive manner. There were three spirits sensed around the group. There was one tall spirit (over 6ft) and two shorter. We split into two small groups; group one being George, Jane, Lucy and Des and Group two was Duggie, Jayne,Neil and Simon.
When Duggies group looked over at the other group they could see three spirits standing by the group members. We spoke to the rest of the group on the CB’s and they confirmed that they could sense them too. We asked one member at a time to walk from one group to another to see what they could pick up with the video camera. We wanted to see if the spirits were following an individual or part of the group. We waited until all of the members had had their turn to see where the three spirits were then. They had switched sides but did not appear to be following any particular individual. Every now and then the taller spirit would walk towards the shore for a while and then rejoin the group.
When the group got together again, Simon took a walkie talkie and walked away from the group as he was being drawn to the dunes. Duggie followed a few minutes later. Simon was unsure as to why he was being drawn to the dunes, but upon reaching there he felt he needed to look back at therest of the group. When Duggie arrived they looked at the group and both saw a tall person standing with the group. Whilst the rest of the group were feeling uneasy, they also smelt the strong, pungent odour of pipe smoke and George said he sensed two old men out on a walk. The remainder of the group joined Duggie and Simon at the sand dunes. Duggie saw someone following them on the beach and when taking some photos Des captured a mist photo whilst this had been felt. A few frames later this had disappeared.
We then ended the evening and made our way back to the car.
